My journey to becoming a dietitian was fueled by my own disordered eating, which involved attempts to control food and my body to achieve “better health.” I ended up feeling more out of control around food and more distressed by my body. This led me to study nutrition and become a registered dietitian so I could finally have the tools to control my body and food, and to help others do the same. When I first became a dietitian, I specialized in weight loss, further strengthening my disordered relationship with food, body, and exercise.
A few years later, I came across the idea of intuitive eating and weight-inclusive care/fat-positivity. I also became a mother, and I was learning through feeding my three children, as well as gaining a deeper understanding of my clients and myself, that attempting to control food and bodies often leads to further disconnection from ourselves and to POOR health, the OPPOSITE of what I actually wanted for myself, my family, and my clients. I am a HEALTHcare provider afterall.
So, things had to shift for me. I couldn’t unsee what I was clearly seeing. I started listening to my body, to my kids’ bodies, and to my clients’ bodies, and we learned to navigate this journey together: listening, responding, messing up, unlearning and relearning, repairing, and trying again, ultimately moving towards a more connected way of eating AND of living. They go hand in hand.

curiosity, gentleness, kindness, and compassion. I serve as a guide to help you and I uncover and understand your relationship with food and body with patience and consent. Together, we witness your story through thought, feeling, and sensation. We work with (not against) the parts of you that are keeping you stuck, make sense of them, befriend them, and hear what they need in order to make space for something different. We work with your entire system, with the assumption that all parts have good intentions, and explore ways to negotiate with these parts so that they can shift out of extreme roles resulting in a more aligned and connected system. We work with the body, instead of against it. This is the process that supports eating from a more regulated and embodied place.
At times it can be messy, and it’s not a straight line, but I’m with you along the way, to share in your joy as well as be with you in your pain. I use a combination of parts work, somatic inquiry and resourcing, motivational interviewing, and a lot of holding the both/and.
I also have lived experience with a chronic condition and have educated myself in how this ties in to embodiment, our lived experience of being in the world, and therefore, how we relate to food and body. Many clients I work with also have a chronic condition of some kind such as GI issues or fibromyalgia, among others, and we can incorporate these concerns and experiences into our work together.

-
support feelings of safety and connection in our relationship by validating and honoring their lived experience, affirming their ability to survive in the best ways that their systems knew how to at the time, and providing a safe enough and supportive space to experiment with something unfamiliar. I consider and value the client as the most important member of their treatment team; they get to ultimately decide how the process goes, while I offer, suggest, educate with permission, and hold space for whatever might come up in our sessions together.
-
yoga, meditation, cooking and baking with my kids, walking outside, and feeding my family.

I love watching American Idol and going to the beach in the summer.
My favorite foods are homemade bread and almost any kind of pizza.
I hope that one day there will be life without food and body shame, and that all foods and bodies will be celebrated.
